What it is

Chained Together is a co-op platforming game where two to four players are literally linked by a chain and must climb out of hell together. It was made by indie studio Anegar Games and became a Twitch favourite because watching friends drag each other off ledges is very funny.

What they actually see

Players jump from platform to platform up a long vertical level, and because the chain pulls, one badly timed jump yanks everyone back down toward the start. Streams are mostly the climb plus overlapping voice chat as friends shout instructions, apologise and laugh at long falls.

Why kids love it

It turns falling and failing into a shared joke, because nobody suffers alone and every disaster is somebody's fault.

Worth knowing

The game itself is gentle in content, with a mildly hellish art style, but the streams kids watch often feature unfiltered adult commentary and swearing when a run collapses.

One way in

That chain game looks like it would end a friendship. Who would you actually want to be chained to, and who would definitely drop you?
