Twitch game
Grand Theft Auto V
What it is
This is the Twitch category for Grand Theft Auto V, Rockstar's 2013 open-world crime game that remains one of the most-streamed titles on the platform. Most of the activity is GTA Online and roleplay servers where players act out invented characters and storylines.
What they actually see
Streamers driving, shooting, robbing shops and improvising long in-character conversations across a busy shared city, with chat reacting in real time. The game world includes guns, car crime, strip clubs and heavy swearing, and roleplay streams add hours of unscripted adult dialogue.
In this one
- Chat with strangers
- Realistic violence
- Strong language
- Long sessions
Why kids love it
Roleplay servers turn the game into an ongoing soap opera where their favourite streamers play cops, criminals and chaotic side characters.
Worth knowing
GTA V is rated M for 17+, roleplay streams routinely run for many hours, and Twitch chat alongside them is unfiltered.
One way in
Someone told me the GTA roleplay servers are basically a drama series. Who's your favourite character on there?
