aura farming

What it means

Doing something purely to look cool, usually in a way everyone can see through. It grew out of the aura points joke, with "farming" borrowed from grinding for points in a game. A boy on an Indonesian boat race doing a slow dance in 2025 became the defining example.

In the wild

"He wore sunglasses indoors all day, pure aura farming."

The parent note

A gentle way kids call out showing off, and mostly used with affection.
