What it means

Content that is deliberately stupid, repetitive, and low-quality, and also the mushy feeling of having watched too much of it. Kids apply it both as criticism and as affection, since a lot of brainrot is enjoyed on purpose. Italian brainrot, a wave of AI-generated animal characters with nonsense names, is the best known example.
