prestige

What it means

In games, to prestige means to reset your rank back to zero once you hit the top, trading your progress for a badge that shows you did it. The mechanic comes from Call of Duty and has spread across many games. Kids also use it loosely outside gaming to mean starting something over from scratch on purpose, or leveling up in general.

In the wild

"I finally maxed out, I'm gonna prestige tonight and grind it all again."

The parent note

It's a gaming milestone rather than a purchase, though it often means a kid wants a long session, so it's a reasonable thing to plan around rather than argue about mid-match.
