chopped

What it means

Ugly, or badly done. It started as slang about appearance and has spread to anything that turned out poorly, like a haircut, a drawing, or a test score. It stings when aimed at a person and is pretty harmless when aimed at an object.

In the wild

"Why is my school photo so chopped this year."

The parent note

Worth noticing who it is pointed at, since appearance insults land differently than "my essay is chopped."
